National Curriculum for key stage 1 - Science
Again, I am already doing a lot of what I have highlighted here really - experiments and simple date collection comes in with the plants and watching them grow. I can certainly add in more engaging questions such as 'Can you name the animals which are leaving?' and 'What other materials and methods do you think you could use to create something similar?' and brief explanations as to why the specific materials need to be used for the activities. Simple little things but more engaging and thought provoking.
