1-2-1 tutorial notes

 I had two 1-2-1 tutorials this week, to really try and fine point my project and what it is going to be. As always, it was really useful to get two different view points on my project thus far and where it could go and what it could look like. I made a few notes during both, to fully remember what was suggested/mentioned;

Initially I quite liked the idea of it being a one-off artist book that I would take into schools as a workshop, for the kids to remake themselves but as this is meant to be a starting point, it kind of needs to be something that they can keep and re-use for further inspiration. For that reason, I need to think about how I would mass produce the book, in a way that is eco friendly - my current thinking is to create the book for submission with hand made recycled paper, to make a point about reusing what you already have and then showing how it would be edited to be printed with an eco friendly print service. It may still take more of an artist book structure than a children's book which is okay because then there aren't as many restrictions and it can still be aimed at children.
I really like the idea of laser cutting a rubber 'stamp' as an entire page to print from, that could be really effective and very unique! Alongside creating protest imagery in screen print which is rather traditional, just perhaps done in a way that is more targeted towards children rather than adults. I also think it's a good idea to look into traditional fairy tales and how they are written to see how I can adapt it to my chosen message.
I certainly have a lot to get into but I think I am starting to form an image of what this project might look like in the end.
